The Visian ICL is an implantable contact lens FDA approved for myopia and soon to be approved for astigmatism has shown superior visual results in myopes or nearsighted people.  This lens sits behind the iris and the procedure does not alter the corneal structure like Lasik or PRK.  The procedure is quick, with relatively immediate visual improvement and relatively little discomfort.  The lens has an extensive safety history with thousands having been performed in the the U.S.
